Making the Dream of Education a Reality: Scholarships

Every year, SI Vallejo is proud to invest in the future of Vallejo's young women. Over the last 10 years, our club has awarded more than $420,000 in scholarships! Our awardees are women and girls who are

• Residents of Vallejo
• Graduating from high school
• Plan to attend a 4-year university, a community college, a trade school, or a professional training program

Additionally, in honor of one of our past Soroptimist members, we award the Greta & Al Lange Memorial Scholarship to women residing in Solano County who are enrolled in a postgraduate program to obtain a degree in the medical field, including Pharmacy, Nursing, and other Medical degrees.

Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, scholastic achievement, motivation of the student, quality of recommendations, and, to a lesser extent, extracurricular activities. All successful applicants meet with a selection board for a personal interview.

Scholarship funds are sent directly to the educational institution upon receipt of proof of registration for classes by the awardee. Scholarship funds are intended to be used for the year for which they have been awarded and can only be held over for a subsequent year with special permission.

2026 Application Instructions

To apply, click the Scholarship Application button to complete the Google Form application. When you have filled everything out, you'll upload the following documents to the Google Form:

• Two Letters of Recommendation
• Official Transcript
• Personal Statement

Please include your first and last name, or at least your first initial and last name, in your document titles. After you've uploaded this information, click the "Submit" button, and you should see a successful submission message. You'll also receive a copy of your answers in your email inbox. 

If you have difficulty uploading your documents to the Google Form application, please email them to VallejoSoroptimist@gmail.com. In your email, explain that you've already submitted your Scholarship Application, but you were not able to attach the documents, and so you are submitting them by email instead. You can also email VallejoSoroptimist@gmail.com if you have any questions about the application or the application process.

Soroptimists, immediate family of Soroptimists, and employees of Soroptimist are not eligible for the award.

Greta and Al Lange Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship for post-graduate studies in the medical field.
